Install SubtitleVideo Live Caption

The easiest way to install SubtitleVideo Live Caption is from the Microsoft Store. You can also install it manually with the installer from our website.

Option 1: Install from the Microsoft Store Recommended

The Microsoft Store version is checked by Microsoft, installs without security warnings, and updates automatically.

  1. Click Get it from the Microsoft Store above, or open the Microsoft Store app and search for SubtitleVideo.
  2. Click Get (or Install) and wait for the download to finish. Sign in with a Microsoft account if the Store asks.
  3. Click Open, or start SubtitleVideo Live Caption from the Windows Start menu.
  4. Continue with Open the application below to sign in and start your first session.

Store ID: 9NWZ9MD412M8. If the Store is blocked on your computer (for example on a company PC), use the manual installation below.

Option 2: Manual installation

The installer from our website is currently distributed without a code-signing certificate, so Windows may display a publisher or security warning.

1

Download the installer

Visit the official SubtitleVideo website and download the installer. Wait until the download finishes, then open your Windows Downloads folder.

Check that the downloaded filename matches the file offered on the official website.

2

Start the installation

Double-click the downloaded .msi file and follow the installation wizard.

If Windows asks for administrator permission, review the prompt and continue only if you trust the installer and understand the requested action.

3

If Windows says “Windows protected your PC”

  1. Pause and verify that the installer came from the official SubtitleVideo website.
  2. Check the filename and, if provided, compare the file's SHA-256 checksum with the value published by SubtitleVideo.
  3. If you cannot verify the file, cancel the installation and contact support.

Depending on your Windows version and security policy, Windows may show More info and Run anyway, or it may not offer an override. Only consider proceeding when the file's authenticity has been independently verified and you trust its source.

4

If Microsoft Defender reports a threat

Do not bypass the warning or turn off protection. Cancel the installation and contact SubtitleVideo support with a screenshot of the warning. Support can help verify the installer.

5

Open the application

After installation, launch SubtitleVideo Live Caption from the Desktop shortcut or the Windows Start menu, if available.

  • Connect to the internet.
  • Sign in to your SubtitleVideo account, or create one if required.
  • Select the appropriate audio input or capture source.
  • Start a session and test transcription with speech or audio.

Allow microphone access in Windows Settings if your selected audio source requires it. Installing a virtual audio driver, if needed, may require a separate installation step and administrator permission.
